Terriers comeback shocks County
County slumped to their fourth straight opening day defeat, despite leading with only three minutes to play at Edgeley Park. Huddersfield were ahead at half-time through Tony Carss' free-kick, but goals from Luke Beckett and Warren Feeney had seemingly given County a winning start to the season. However with County sitting back Andy Booth forced an equaliser and then to add insult to injury Pawel Abbott netted the winner three minutes in to stoppage time, leaving County heading to league leaders Colchester on Tuesday without having registered a point.
County 0-2 Blackburn Rovers
Up against Premiership oppoisition on Wednesday evening, County equipped themselves well in the first half, going in with the scores goal-less. However, after Lucas Neill's long-range strike seven minutes in the second half County visibly tired, and with the normal procession of substitutes appearing in the second half, the game ceased to please as a spectacle. The second Rovers goal came from Paul Gallacher as the game neared its conclusio. However, overall this was a reasonable performance for the team to build on ahead of the season opener against Huddersfield Town.
League 1 news - Lowe blow for Rushden
Rushden & Diamonds' striker Onandi Lowe is set to be out of action for at least six weeks after suffering a groin injury in Saturday's defeat at Bournemouth. Lowe, Roshden's joint top scorer last season, is currently the Division's leading marksman with nine strikes in League and Cup .
Barnsley welcome Lukic
Former Leeds United and Arsenal goalkeeper John Lukic has joined the coaching staff at Barnsley on a temporary basis, whilst the Tykes have also suffered an injury blow with news that midfielder Steve Haward is out for a fortnight with a hamstring injury.
