Welsh 'keeper Lee Jones joined County before the start of the 2000 - 01 season from Bristol Rovers for just £50,000. Comparisons were immediately drawn with current Southampton and Wales international 'keeper Paul Jones, who County have struggled to find a successor to. Jones took over as County's number one 'keeper after the sale of Carlo Nash to Manchester City in the middle of the 2000/01 season, and made a total of 27 appearances, overcoming a shaky start to establish himself between the sticks.
